Landscape as a Space &/or Place. When I started taking “landscape” photographs I had books of contacts from trips and entitled them “Places”* (more places being the second book of many). On a recommendation by @andreas_olesen I started reading “Landscape and Power” by W.J.T Mitchell and in the 2nd edition preface it touches on a lot of the ideas I’ve been thinking about for years. I’m looking forward to getting into the essays. *I was also pretty heavily into Donald Byrds “Places and Spaces” and think that had a heavy hand in my notebook title.
