Tidal pool after John Baldessari, anonymous participants.

I have always felt it’s intrusive to photograph people unawares, some people make their living out of it but I find the entitlement too much to bear. With this in mind I decided to anonymise the people in my pictures today and taking a leaf out of John Baldessari’s book I used simple coloured circles to do this. The colour of the circle is dictated to some degree by where I believed their gaze lands.

These were all shot hand held on my Fujifilm GFX 100S ii using a Pentax A 645 75mm lens with a Fotodiox tilt shift adaptor and a Lee Filter polariser.
