For our commission by the @bodleianlibs x @fusionartsox we have created three Audioscripts inspired by books which will be featured in the Sensational Books exhibition from 27 May to 4 December this year. The sound of pages turning, books being arranged on shelves, hands on the textured covers of books and across the various page materials are combing with sounds from nature and our world to create three sonic interpretations.

Our Audioscripts as we describe them, are a sonic investigation into the sensation of reading a physical book and a representation of how our minds transport us into the pages and our perception of the books contents.

The sound in the piece comes from a combination of new recordings and sounds from our archive from Windwhistle and Horomaka/ Banks Peninsula in Aotearoa New Zealand and Margate, Minster, Oxford and Bristol.
