A red flag from the rough,
In golf, the “rough” refers to areas off the fairway with longer, thicker grass or unkept vegetation, designed to penalize inaccurate shots by making them harder to hit than from the short grass. Playing from the rough requires adjustments like using more loft (wedges/hybrids), gripping down on the club, taking a steeper swing path (weight forward, ball back in stance) to minimize grass interference, and focusing on getting the ball back in play rather than distance.

Abandoned Bridge. Disused walkway to the hovercraft launch pad in Ramsgate. The hovercraft I have been on (never from Ramsgate) always seemed like something from the future, the noise and the lift off as the skirt filled with air is embedded in my memory.
