On the way into Margate from the London is St Nicholas Roundabout, rooks circle as they do. The first exit takes you to a small car park, the sort of car park men loiter in their cars eating cold Mc Donald’s during the day and teenagers congregated and take part in smoking rituals in the early hours. At one time Romans would have passed this way before “the car park” was invented.
